Works

This is an old analogue transfer of the 1941 Fleischer cartoon. The colour smear and noise are cleaned up and the ink lines sharpen. It also invents detail, with extra lines on the face and the blurry handwriting redrawn.

Reference shows a 1940s hand-painted cel-animated cartoon: a close-up of a man with dark hair and round glasses in a blue suit and red tie, then a close-up of a woman with dark wavy hair and red lipstick in a grey jacket, against soft painted blue and purple backgrounds, from an old analogue video transfer with visible chroma bleed, colour noise, smeared edges and compression artifacts. Edited shows the same scene restored to high quality with sharp detail, clean edges, and no compression artifacts. ENHANCE QUALITY a 1940s hand-painted cel-animated cartoon, flat painted colours, clean dark ink outlines and smooth airbrushed painted backgrounds. Subject identity, framing, and background geometry are identical to the reference; only compression artifacts and image quality differ between reference and edited.

Notes

This ran at strength 1.3 and at 896×672, which keeps the cartoon's 4:3 shape. The original soundtrack is put back on after generation.
